Hale Kaunu | Original Painting

Part of Tom Thordarson's Escape Series, the title of this original artwork, "Hale Kaunu" means "love house." This place is a very sacred one. It is a place whose title celebrates great passion and a couple's love to play. It's is the house of passion...and lovers. There is everything needed to foster these things. The energy emerges so powerfully that creatures of all kinds long to reside here as well. There is a seal that waits every morning for a greeting and special tasty treat. A very loving house cat rests lazily in the sun.

While a tire swing is a perfect way to reflect and sway in harmony with the waves and tide, a hand crafted outrigger can be a wonderful way to visit the neighboring coves and isles. Inside this hut flow the sweet breezes of the Hawaiian trade winds.

There is a worn wooden post in the foreground that displays a lovingly carved heart. Inside this heart could, one day, contain the initials of the lucky couple inside! The song of the Pacific will always deliver the perfect romantic melody.
