Harmony of The Elements - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - This painting is what I would call “characterized romantic.” It’s not quite cartoony, yet pushing the proportions and color of reality a bit.
Harmony of The Elements - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - This painting is what I would call “characterized romantic.” It’s not quite cartoony, yet pushing the proportions and color of reality a bit. As I painted it, I was imagining some romantic, enchanted couple hiding away on a magical, moonlit night. They are perhaps inside the tree house, strolling on the beach or swimming in the silvery water.
Hale Pama - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - Anyone who has sat on the shores of Hawaii has heard the melodic sounds of wind passing through the coconut palms.
Hale Pama - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - Anyone who has sat on the shores of Hawaii has heard the melodic sounds of wind passing through the coconut palms. I find it so peaceful, like a chant that centers your very being. Here is a place that celebrates this idea. Two leis placed on the volcanic tide pool shows there is romance filled throughout this dwelling. The couple has built an enchanted escape that is forever amidst the music of the windswept palms.
Hale Kaunu - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - This place is a very sacred one.
Hale Kaunu - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - This place is a very sacred one. It is a place whose title celebrates great passion and a couple's love to play. It's is the house of passion...and lovers. There is everything needed to foster these things. The energy emerges so powerfully that creatures of all kinds long to reside here as well. There is a seal that waits, every morning, for a greeting and special tasty treat. A very loving house cat rests lazily in the sun.
Diamond In the Rough - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - There is something about the simple magic of ocean waves.
Diamond In the Rough - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - There is something about the simple magic of ocean waves. They beckon us to play, sing a melody that centers our soul and recall to mind the awesome power of the ever changing sea. This painting celebrates a tiny hidden cove where the ultimate “surf shack” has been crafted.
Cove of Wonders - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - Inspired by a little cove I recalled from memory on the Big Island.
Cove of Wonders - by Tom Thordarson of THOR ART - Inspired by a little cove I recalled from memory on the Big Island. I was perhaps 17 at the time and was visiting my cousins in Kailua-Kona. I took shells, a couple of old glass net floats and made a tiki from an old palm tree log. I fantasized of living on the beach forever in a hut made from things found on the shore. This painting illustrates the way I would have realized that fantasy perhaps.
